Status Signal is a trading name of Zac Manken Pty Ltd (ABN 96 689 511 920) (“we”, “us”, “our”). We help local service businesses get more Google reviews, rank higher on Google Maps and catch missed calls. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and how you can contact us about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
From people who visit our website or contact us: your name, business name, email, mobile, and anything you type into our forms, chat or booking calendar. We also collect basic technical information such as your device, browser and pages visited, through cookies and analytics tools.
From our clients: business and billing details, and the access we need to deliver the service, such as your Google Business Profile and website.
On behalf of our clients: to run review requests, missed-call text-backs and referral messages, we hold details of our clients’ own customers and enquirers, such as first name, mobile, email and the job or appointment they had. We handle this information only on our client’s instructions (see below).
How we collect it
Directly from you when you fill in a form, book a call, message us or become a client; automatically through cookies when you use our website; and from our clients when they give us their customer lists or connect their booking or job software.
How we use it
- To reply to enquiries and run the calls you book
- To set up and deliver our services, including sending review, referral and missed-call messages on our clients’ behalf
- To bill clients and manage accounts
- To send you occasional updates about our services, if you’ve agreed or it’s related to an enquiry you made. Every message tells you how to opt out.
- To improve our website and services
We don’t sell personal information.
Our clients’ customers
If you received a text or email from a business that uses Status Signal, that business gave us your details so we could contact you for them. We only use those details to send that business’s messages, we never use them for our own marketing, and you can reply STOP or click unsubscribe at any time to stop all messages. Questions about why a business has your details are best directed to that business; we’re happy to help too.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run our business, including our CRM and messaging platform (GoHighLevel and its SMS and email providers), Google, citation and rank-tracking tools, payment processors and email. Some of these providers store data overseas, mainly in the United States. We choose providers that protect information to a standard similar to Australian law. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies to make forms and booking work and to understand how people use the site. You can block cookies in your browser, though some features may stop working.
Keeping it safe
We store information on secure, access-controlled platforms and limit access to people who need it. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it. When a client leaves, we delete their customer lists from our systems on request.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, email us first and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
